Public relations is about promoting the good.
The Public Relations Society of the Philippines (PRSP), a premier authority in the field, salutes excellence in public relations by giving out various awards, well-renowned, being, the Anvil Award. The PRSP believes that by exhibiting “the best” in society, it encourages nothing less, in terms of practice and public service.
On the night of February 15, 2008, at the Intercontinental Hotel in Makati, Mr. Charlie Agatep of Agatep Associates Inc. (AAI), who wrote about the Binalot Foundation’s DAHON Program and Mr. Rommel T. Juan, President of Binalot Fiesta Food, Inc. (BFFI), received the prestigious award.
The harvesting of the banana leaves used in wrapping the Binalot meals, gives jobs to about 30 less privileged families in Nagcarlan, Laguna – empowering them with a long-term sustainable livelihood. Conversely, this has given Binalot a reliable supply of affordable leaves.
Binalot’s DAHON Program is a story about making a difference, waiting to be told – and was told. Truly, the good is rewarded.
